Celebrate National Library Week

Unlimited Possiblilities National Library Week April 12-18 - Draw a picture and win!

National Library Week is April 12-18, and once again we are joining Culver’s Restaurants, in celebrating for a whole month!  During April, children ages 4-11 are invited to pick up a coloring sheet from the library and draw a picture about their favorite book.  When the drawing is returned to the library, the child will receive a certificate for a free single scoop of Culver’s frozen custard and be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a Culver's Kids Meal.  All coloring sheets must be turned in by April 30th and will be displayed in the library.  Sheets are available at the service desk.

Other events during National Library Week include our regularly scheduled storytimes, on Thursday the Tween/Teen Book Club will have a special program after reading the book, The Watsons Go to Birmingham, and on Friday a "School's Out Movie" special screening. The Watsons go to Birmingham - 1963

by Christopher Paul Curtis

Book cover with old Plymouth and snapshots of the Watson family.

Enter the hilarious world of ten-year-old Kenny and his family, the Weird Watsons of Flint, Michigan. There’s Momma, Dad, little sister Joetta, and brother Byron, who’s thirteen and an “official juvenile delinquent.” When Momma and Dad decide it’s time for a visit to Grandma, Dad comes home with the amazing Ultra-Glide, and the Watsons set out on a trip like no other. They’re heading South to Birmingham, Alabama, toward one of the darkest moments in America’s history.
