The Reinvention of Edison Thomas, by Jacqueline Houtman

Meet author Jacqueline Houtman!

The first 10 readers to sign up will get a free copy of the book. Come the the book club meeting and have the author sign your copy!

Book cover showing gears and machinery.

Eddy Thomas can read a college physics book, but he can’t read the emotions on the faces of his classmates at Drayton Middle School. When the local school crossing guard is laid off, Eddy is haunted by thoughts of the potentially disastrous consequences and invents a traffic-calming device, using parts he has scavenged from discarded machines.

Join science writer and author Jacqueline Houtman in a discussion about her book, The Reinvention of Edison Thomas. We’ll talk about how an idea becomes a book. We will also talk about science.

Snacks provided!
