GET A DANE COUNTY LIBRARY SERVICE (DCLS) LIBRARY CARD

Dane County Library Service library cards are issued to residents of municipalities that do not have their own public library. You can apply for a free card on the Bookmobile by filling out an application form (available in English or Spanish) and showing a photo I.D. with your current address. If your photo I.D. does not have your current address, bring other proof of residence (checks, an official bill mailed to you and postmarked within the last month, a rental agreement, etc.) Application forms are available on the Bookmobile or can be downloaded (you must have Adobe Acrobat installed) and printed out (see below). Complete the form and bring it, along with your I.D., to your Bookmobile stop.

Cards may be issued to individuals, organizations, or businesses. Children under 14 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the application form.

You can use your Dane County Library Service library card at any Bookmobile stop or any public library in the South Central Library System. The borrowing rules and policies of the lending library apply.

If forget your card and wish to checkout materials, you MUST show photo identification for a one-time temporary checkout.

You are responsible for all library materials checked out on your card. If your card is lost or stolen, report it immediately to (608) 266-6388.

The first card issued by the Dane County Library Service is free. Replacement cards cost $1.00.
