LIBRARY NEWS

SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM

The Summer Library Program is wrapping up. Children, if you have met your reading goals that you set at the beginning of the program in June, please stop in this week, July 28 through August 2, to pick up your bag-o-goodies and FREE book! And don't forget to sign our posterboard for the Food Pantry wagon of donations....

SLP "WAGON TRAIN" TO THE DEERFIELD FOOD PANTRY AUGUST 4

On Monday, August 4, at 1:00p.m., any children who have read an hour or more for the Summer Library Program are invited to walk our wagon of donated food to the Deerfield Community Center to drop off for the Food Pantry. If you can't make the walk, please make sure you sign our giant card that we will also be taking to the community center. We want to recognize all the hard work you put in over the summer and let everyone know that you helped people in need in our Deerfield community just by reading!

TEEN SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM CONTINUES THROUGH AUGUST

Hey, Teens, keep on putting those book reviews in our monthly drawing box. We have a drawing at the end of July and at the end of August, yet. Be sure to put your name and phone number on them so we can call you if you win!

SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR ADULTS

The Summer Reading Program is not just for kids! Deerfield Public Library is also holding an Adult Summer Reading Program (for readers ages 18 and up) from mid-June through the end of August! There will be monthly drawings for fabulous swag. If you have any questions, please contact your friendly library staff.

WE HAVE "BEST-LOVED BOOKS IN DEERFIELD" BOOKMARKS!

In February, the library introduced the "LOVE BOARD" made especially for patrons to write down and share their favorite books (fill out a heart with title and author of a book you love and put it on the board). From all the hearts that were on the Love Board, we created a list of best-loved books in Deerfield and turned that into bookmarks! One bookmark has the list of adult and young adult favorites, and another has the list of juvenile favorites. You can never have enough bookmarks, right? And you may find something to add to your OWN reading list. Add these special bookmarks to your collection!
