The Current Reedsburg Public Library:

Opened January 26, 1998
First Week 5,745 people walked through the front doors.
15,400 square foot building
The community raised over $800,000 for the $1.5 million dollar building.

Mission Statement: The Reedsburg Public Library serves as a free source
of reliable information and materials using traditional library resources
and emerging technologies to help meet the community’s education, information, and recreation needs.

The Library Collection:

The library's collection consists of over 70,000 books. This includes a large variety of fiction andnon-fiction in hardcover and paperback. Also children's materials, and an extensive collection of large print books. Our collection also includes audio books, videos, dvds, compact discs, cassettes, magazines/newspapers and computer multimedia kits.






Library Services:

Computer Workstations: 20 Internet stations (16 PCs, 4 Macs)
with word processing programs.
We also offer Wireless Internet access to our patrons.

Programs: Children's programs include storytimes, after school programs.
Adult programs include book groups, computer classes and instructional programs.
Also summer library program is offered for all ages.

Homebound Service: Friends of the Library in partership with
the Postal Service will deliver large print and audio books
to homebound patrions homes.

Meeting Rooms: The Conference Room (a small meeting room) and the Community
Room are available for meetings during and after library hours.
A deposit is required for use of Community Room. Reservations 
are required for both meeting rooms. Study Rooms are also available during library
hours but no reservations are allowed.

Library Card

  • Must be presented each time materials are borrowed.
  • Is valuable-please protect it. 
  • Has a replacement cost of $1.00.

May be used at any public library in the South Central Library System.
This includes libraries in Adams, Columbia, Dane, Green,
Portage, Sauk and Wood counties.

 ** Please report lost cards or a change of address
promptly because you are responsible for all items checked out on your card. 
(Consider carefully before you loan it to someone else.)

Library Board

The Reedsburg Public Library Board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM.
Agendas for each meeting are posted at the library and on the City of Reedsburg web site.

The Reedsburg Public Library Board is appointed to 3 year terms by the Mayor of Reedsburg
with the Reedsburg City Council confirming those appointments.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest
an item for the Reedsburg Public Library. 
We welcome your recommendations for titles to be added to our collection. 
However it is not possible to purchase every title that is requested.  We recommend though that you periodically check LINKcat yourself,
as another LINK Library may order the title before we do, or if we do not.
