FAMILY PROGRAMS

Performers in the Library's Community Room:



Tuesday, June 17@ 7 PM: Stuart Stotts
This musician kicks off the summer with songs, stories and humor.
Stuart is a Library favorite because of his love of books and reading.

Tuesday, July 15 @ 6:30 PM: Bubble Guy
This "Bubbleologist" is inspiring, educational, and will captivate both children and adults.
The show's theme is "Anything is Possible".

Tuesday, July 29 @ 6:30 PM: Mad Science
This performance will spark the interest of all children. Kids will gain an understanding of what science is all
about and how it affects the world around them.


TUESDAYS ARE FAMILY FUN NIGHTS

Families are welcome to the Library every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm
for a variety of family fun.

June 24: Brain Quest-tangrams, puzzles, hidden picture and eye illusion books, and much more to boggle the mind.

July 1: Kitchen Table Scientists- experiments with common kitchen products. Be ready to become a scientist extraordinaire.

July 8: Gross, Gooey, Gloppy- have a messy good time with the entire family.

July 15: Bubble Guy

July 22: Black Light Magic- the power of black light will be discovered through art projects and experiments.

July 29: Mad Science Program

August 5: Worm Races- the library provides the worms. Join in the annual Library event.

August 12: Family Movie Night- bring a blanket and snacks to watch Disney's "Flubber" on the big screen.

August 19: Family Science Fair- families have the chance to create and display their own science fair project.



Summer Signing Sessions
Learn American Sign Language (ASL) basics with a new topic covered each week.
Wednesdays @ 1PM- June 18, 25, July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Loganville Book Bunch
Wednesdays at 10am beginning June 25
July 2, 16, 23, 30 and August 6 and 13

No Book Bunch on July 9
Outreach programs at the Village Hall in Loganville for children of all ages begin June 25.
Be ready for crafts, stories and book check-out.

Monday Movie Matinee
Free movies will be shown on the big screen in the Library’s Community Room Monday afternoons. Snacks can be
carried in along with pillows and blankets for comfortable floor seating. The films will be rated G or PG.
Check the movie posting board for each week's feature.

Mondays @ 2PM beginning June 16.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS




Babygarten
Parents, caregivers, siblings and babies 0-24 months are welcome to join us in the Community Room for 45 minutes of
books, songs, rhymes and free playtime.  No need to register. 
Mondays @ 10am

Junior Lunch Bunch Tuesdays
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and and blanket to the Community Room on Tuesday at noon for storytime.
As families eat, Miss Kris and Miss Laura will read books, share songs, teach American Sign Language (ASL).
Tuesdays @ noon – June 10, 17, 24, July 1, 8, 15 , 22 and 29

Wednesday Morning Storytime
This is a “second helping” of Junior Lunch Bunch for families or daycare groups that may prefer storytime
without the picnic lunch. 
Wednesdays @ 10am –June 11,18, 25, July 2,9, 16, 23 and 30.

Preschool Players present Mouse Paint

Children ages 4 and 5 will rehearse this play on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and perform on
Thursday evening in the Library’s Community Room for friends and family.  Space is limited, so please register. 
Session I: June 17 and 18, 3-3:45pm. Performance: Thursday, June 19 @ 6:30pm
Session II: July 15 and 16, 3-3:45pm. Performance: Thursday, July 17 @ 6:30 pm.
Session III: August 5 and 6, 3-3:45pm. Performance: Thursday, August 7 @ 6:30 pm.

DISCOVERY PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY AGE CHILDREN


Discovery Programs are for children going in Kindergarten through 5th grades.   Children must be registered at least 24 hours in advance. Please register in the Children’s Area of the Library.

READING EDUCATION ASSISTANCE DOG (R.E.A.D.)

The Reedsburg Public Library is thrilled to have a R.E.A.D. dog as part of the Summer Library Program.
Children of all ages are welcome to read to a dog that has been trained for this national literacy program.

Reedsburg Readers – Book Discussion Clubs
Join a book club for an exciting time of book related activities. A Library card should be brought to each meeting so the next book to be discussed can be checked out. Space is limited, please register.

READING INCENTIVE PROGRAMS

Preschool Reading Incentive Program "Read-to-Me" is for pre-readers.
Children participate with family members, friends or caregivers who read books to them and record the titles in a reading log. Their reading goal is at least five books per week. A prize envelope filled with coupons from area businesses is awarded beginning July 21st for pre-readers who have met or exceeded their goal.
"Read-to-Me" must be started before July 1st.

 

Independent Reader Incentive Program
"Reading Rocks" is a reading incentive program for independent readers through 5th grade. Children set their own summer reading goal and record the books in their reading log. A prize envelope filled with coupons from area businesses is awarded beginning July 21st for readers who have met or exceeded their goal.
"Reading Rocks" needs to be started before July 1st.
