THE SPACE PLACE. Excellent site loaded with word games, facts and other activities about Space.
NASA KIDS. There are numerous activities and games at this site, as well as information. One game allows people to calculate how much they would weigh on the other planets and the moon, and how old they would be on another planet where years might be much shorter or longer than they are on Earth. The activities include Space Art, games, coloring activities and jokes. Kids can join the NASA Club for Kids here.
STARCHILD. Basic astronomy information is given on two levels, one for lower elementary aged kids and one for older children
NASA FOR KIDS. This site has links to other NASA information on airplanes,
Earth, the planets, space travel, stars and galaxies.
SPACE KIDS. There are numerous pictures of outer space at this site and an exploration guide for Mars, a tour of the Solar System and Space News for kids.
SCIENCE FOR THE MILLENIUM. Ideas on what science and technology will allow people to do in the future. The site has numerous movies and the system requirements are explained. Some movies may take several minutes to download.
JOHN F. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER. All the information you need to plan a visit to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Information on watching launches and landings of the Space Shuttle and other activities visitors may do on their tour is included. If you can't visit the Center in person, this is a good way to take a virtual tour.

Although NASA has some excellent sites for kids, there are other good sites on astronomy as well.
SPACE AND KIDS ASTRONOMY. This site has activities related to space and numerous links to Space and Astronomy sites.
ASTRONOMY FOR KIDS A page devoted to numerous astronomy topics such as sun, comets, stars, moons & planets. There is a colored photo on each topic along with simple facts. There is a page to ask questions about astronomy and the answers are posted on the site.
STAR JOURNEY. Information on the Hubble Space Telescope, constellations and star charts are all located at this site.
AMAZING SPACE. Information on black holes, astronauts, galaxies and stars. There is a game called Solar System Trading Cards that features photos of space objects and sets of information and questions about each photo.
SPACE PLACE. The Space Place is an educational center for the public administered by the UW-Madison Astronomy Department's Astronomy Laboratory. It has numerous activities for kids and links to other sites. The activities include art, science and even cooking ideas related to space living and astronomy.
SPACE CAMP. There are three Space Camps in the United States, none of them are run or owned by NASA, they are all operated by private companies. This site gives information about all three of the camps in Alabama, California and Florida. Information on how to apply and what is taught at the camps is included.
SKYWATCHER'S DIARY. This site has a narrative of what can been seen in the night sky on a night by night basis. It is updated monthly. This site is maintained by the Abram Planetarium at Michigan State University .
STAR STUFF. This site features an "Image of the Day," which is a photograph from space. It links directly to NASA's Star Child site and has other links to the Hubble Space images, a Pronunciation Guide to astronomy terms, observatory and planetarium sites and tips on making telescopes.

ALIEN EXPLORER. This site has numerous activities related to aliens and links to other sites as one. One feature is Mr. Ducker's Create and Alien with instructions for building an alien, drawing aliens, and clip art about aliens.
WHO'S OUT THERE? This is an interactive space science adventure Searching for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence (SETI). The site visitor is leading the search and their skills are tested to accomplish the task. Fun and learning are combined here.
PET ALIEN. There are jokes and arcade type games to play at this site about aliens.
ALIENS AT SCHOOL. This site features stories written by kids about aliens, characters that kids have designed and links to other sites about aliens.
EZONE. This site allows visitors to try out some Play Station games, many of which have alien themes. There are fun sound effects and several action games. Some of the games are really just cartoons. The games may take some time to download. Shockwave is required and can be downloaded from the site.
NOVA'S HUNT FOR ALIEN WORLDS. This is a science site related to astronomy and has scientific investigation information on the existence of alien life. It also has a star map, a "Find the Planet" activity, and information on stargazing and constellations.

ROBOT ZOO This site is part of an exhibit of robotic animals that is touring children's museums in the United States. It helps introduce robotics to children. It features demonstrations of how the robotic animal models work and move.
COOL ROBOT OF THE WEEK NASA maintains this site to feature interesting use and design of robots. Each week a site about a new robot is posted, but the robot sites listed in the past are also posted.
ROBOSAURUS Robosuarus is a giant robot build to entertain people at monster car rallies and demolition derbies. It is 40 feet high and weighs 58,000 pounds. It was designed to demolish cars. Robosaurus lifts cars in the air, burns off the paint and melts plastic with its fiery breath, bites the cars in two, rips off the roof and crushes the car in its hands.
THE UPUAUT PROJECT This site include a descriptions of robots used to explore shafts in a tomb in Egypt. The robots used became increasingly sophisticated as technology developed.
KHEP ON THE WEB This site allows visitors to interact on-line with a robot and to control the movements of the robot, Khepera. Netscape Navigator is required.
SAN FRANCISCO ROBOTICS SOCIETY OF AMERICA This is an organization for people who like robots. There is information on robots and robotics. Visitors can try to control a robot as it paints a picture, they will even send you your picture. JAVA is needed to use the painting robot and there may be mailing costs involved.
THE COMPUTER MUSEUM There are several fun activities involving robots at this site. There is a Robot Challenge in which visitors try to control the robot on-line. There is also a featured that allows visitors to "Design Your Own Robot."
LEGOBOT HEADQUARTERS This site features robots made with Legos. The site is managed by an individual and is not associated with the Lego Company. There are photos and step by step directions on how to make these Lego robots and pictures of robots other people have made using Legos.
