Sun Prairie Reads Seedfolks

Sun Prairie Reads Seedfolks

Sun Prairie Reads is the Sun Prairie Public Library’s first ever community reading project.  This community reading project is a yearlong event centered on a single book: Seedfolks by Newbery Award winning Paul Fleischman.  Throughout the year you will have opportunities to attend programs based on the book’s themes, join book discussions, and participate in our new library garden.  Community reading events offer new opportunities for community members to engage with each other through discussion and shared interests.

Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman

"Seedfolks" by Paul Fleischman

Sun Prairie Reads is centered on Paul Fleischman’s novel, Seedfolks.  The story follows a group of neighbors who are brought together by the act of a young girl planting bean seeds in a vacant lot.  Friendship, diversity, building bridges and community gardening are all themes explored in this small book that packs a huge wallop!
