Once you have placed items on hold, there are several things you can do to manage your holds list.
Access your holds list
- Click on My Account (enter your barcode and PIN).
- Click on Hold Requests.
Review your holds
You may track your holds online. Under Requested items ready for pickup you can see where they are being held (Location) and the deadline for picking up the items (Expires).
Under Requested items not yet available you can see:
- what items are In Transit (on their way for you to pick up)
- your Position on the list (54 in 322 means there are 322 people on the list and you are number 54)
- the Expiration Date (holds expire one year after they were placed)
- the Pick Up Location
You can click on Expires to sort the list by expiration date, or Title to sort it alphabetically by title.
Cancel your unwanted holds
Don't need it? Cancel your hold so the item is available for the next person.
- From Hold Requests go to Requested Items Not Yet Available.
- Click the box(es) in front of the item(s) you want to cancel.
- Click the Cancel Request button
Going on vacation? Suspend your holds
Suspend your holds so they do not become available while you are gone, yet you retain your place on the list.
- From Hold Requests go to Requested Items Not Yet Available.
- Click the box(es) in front of the item(s) you want to suspend.
- Click the Change Status button. These items will now have a status of suspended.
When you return, you may Activate the hold again by following the same process.
Manage Holds in a Series or Set
You can control when you see each volume in a set or series by using the "Suspend" status.
- Place holds on each volume in the set.
- Change the status to "Suspended" using the instructions above.
- When you are close to the top of the holds list for all volumes, and you are ready to watch them, change the hold status back to Active for the first volume.
- You can then change the status back to Active for each volume as you are ready to watch it.
